All gas hot water tank thermostat models include a built-in, non-cycling Energy Cut-Off (ECO) system to automatically shut off gas to the water heater in case of excessively high water temperatures. Always use the serial number of your gas water heater to ensure you select the correct gas hot water heater control unit.
