Hydraulic Roll Groover Kit For Model 300

The RIDGID 48297 (Model 918) is a hydraulic roll groover designed to form standard grooves in various pipe materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, PVC, and copper. The RIDGID 918 roll groover features a compact design that mounts onto the RIDGID 300 Power Drive.

Performance and Hydraulic Actuation:

• Actuation System: The unit utilizes a two-stage hydraulic hand pump and a 15-ton ram to advance the groove roll into the pipe.
• Depth Control: Precision is maintained via a groove depth gauge and a large knurled depth adjustment nut to control final groove diameter.
• Stabilizer: An integrated, adjustable stabilizer assists in maintaining proper tracking and control. Material Capacities:
  • The 918 offers extensive grooving capacities depending on the material and pipe schedule:
    • Steel and Stainless Steel: Grooves 1" to 12" Schedule 10 and 1" to 8" Schedule 40 steel. For stainless steel, it handles 1" to 12" Schedule 10 and 1" to 2" Schedule 40.
    • PVC: Compatible with 1" to 12" Schedule 10, 1" to 8" Schedule 40, and 2-1/2" to 6" Schedule 80 PVC.
    • Copper: Grooves 2" to 6" copper tube (Types K, L, M, and DWV) using specialized roll sets
    • The kit weighs approximately 104 lbs and includes a dedicated carrying case for roll sets and tools necessary for roll set changes.
