This synthetic rubber compound is made of a combination of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) and styrene butadiene rubber to inherit the strengths of both materials. The addition of synthetic rubber SBR gives this thin sheet rubber a high level of physical durability and endurance for use in demanding applications. This EPDM elastomer has a 60A durometer, meaning that it is fairly hard, but still retains reasonable flex and pliability. This synthetic sheet rubber is the perfect material to be used for commercial and industrial pads and bumpers, among many other possible applications. The key feature of rubber EPDM is its outstanding range of resistance. Don’t be fooled by appearances; this thin rubber sheeting is tough and boast excellent durability against damaging chemicals and weather conditions. While many other synthetic rubbers fail under prolonged exposure to elements such as UV rays, ozone, and moisture, this rubber sheeting is specially designed to handle such extreme physical conditions. Beyond its outdoor abilities, this weather-resistant rubber sheet also stands up to several chemicals, ranging from acetone to nitrates. Qualities like this intense chemical resistance make these hard rubber sheets ideal for industrial locations which might expose the synthetic elastomers to potentially corrosive substances. This black EPDM rubber also has a wide temperature range and performs well in temperatures from -40° F to 212° F, making it perfect for extreme industrial or outdoor temperatures. Our ethylene propylene elastomer is heavy-duty and won’t sacrifice its lifespan to heat, chemicals, or weathering effects. Rubber-Cal’s EPDM sheeting is available in seven different gauges ranging from 1/32” to 1/2" to fit the needs of any desired application. These 1/32" rubber sheets are the thinnest option available and work best for finely detailed applications. These EPDM sheets are also available in a variety of different sizes and can be cut down for even more possible applications, such as making UV-resistant liners, seals and gaskets. These adhesive-backed rubber sheets feature pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) to allow easy DIY installations.
