This high density rubber sheet is made from a synthetic elastomer called Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), which is well-known for its extreme physical durability. The material is a very wear-resistant rubber that can absorb movements such as vibrations, abrasions, and impacts that could potentially cause damage to sensitive equipment or sub-floors. The elastic rubber sheet greatly reduces vibrations as they pass through its dense make-up, preventing any potential harm to the sub-surface. SBR is a vulcanized rubber sheet with a solid, waterproof surface that cannot develop harmful fungi like mildew and mold. This durable commercial rubber is not only waterproof, but slip-resistant as well! This is because rubber material has a naturally high coefficient of friction, or resistance to movement. This gives the rubber sheet significantly better grip than other materials, allowing it to maintain traction even when the surface is wet. The durometer, or hardness rating, of this solid rubber is classified as 60A. That means that while the thick sheet rubber has a hard and sturdy surface, it is still moderately pliable. This black elastomer is extra thick, measuring 3/8-inch for heavy-duty protection. The 0.375” thick industrial rubber is ideal for physically demanding jobs such as protective pads or bumpers. The thick rubber material can also be cut down for an endless possibility of applications.
