Rubber-Cal’s General Purpose Rubber is a versatile elastomer sheeting that is ideal for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. Our standard rubber products are made from Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), a synthetic elastomer made popular by its extreme durability and protective capabilities. SBR elastomer sheeting is heavy-duty, and can endure intense shock, abrasions, and impacts without being worn down. This wear-resistant rubber is also waterproof, slip-resistant, and able to withstand extreme temperatures from -10° all the way up to 190°F. This makes the black sheet rubber ideal for high-stress, physically demanding applications. Unlike most materials, this waterproof rubber sheet demonstrates a natural element of grip thanks to rubber’s high coefficient of friction. The smooth sheet rubber enhances traction so greatly that grip can be maintained even when the material is wet. This solid elastomer has a durometer of 60A, which gives the rubber a hard, yet somewhat flexible surface. 60A is considered to be a mid-range hardness rating, ideal for most general applications. This sheet rubber is our thickest available with a 1/2-inch gauge. The 0.5” non-slip rubber sheet is best suited for high-stress, protective applications such as industrial bumpers or pads. However, the thick sheet rubber can always be cut down for use as rubber seals, gaskets, or lining.
