Description
Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheet rubber is a durable elastomer sheeting that is designed for industrial applications. Rubber neoprene was developed by DuPont in the 1930s to meet the demand for a sheet rubber material with chemical resistance and outdoor capabilities. While other elastomer sheets degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, neoprene rubber is designed to endure. Our sheets of neoprene are actually a synthetic rubber compound, made with a blend of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and chloroprene (neoprene) to give it the strength of both synthetic elastomers. This mix of synthetic rubbers gives the neoprene sheet moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The result is a smooth and solid neoprene sheeting that is highly desired for intense applications.
A key strength of rubber neoprene is its intense temperature range and resistance. The neoprene sheeting performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, making then the ideal choice for most industrial applications. No need to worry about high temperatures or heavy abrasions damaging the industrial rubber sheet; this 3/16" neoprene is one of the thicker gauges available and works best in high-stress physical applications. Our neoprene sheeting comes in a selection of gauges, lengths, and widths to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene hardness. This soft neoprene has a durometer of 40A, giving it a somewhat firm surface with an excellent range of flexibility. The 40A durometer neoprene is extremely pliable, making it a good choice for sealing applications like insulation or industrial gasketing. This rubber neoprene is the ideal industrial sheet rubber.
Neoprene sheeting performs well in high-stress applications—particularly in outdoor and industrial conditions—that could damage other synthetic rubber types. Rubber neoprene is highly valued in outdoor applications because it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and weathering. The unique neoprene blend that makes up Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheeting gives it great resistance to many substances that can easily degrade other types of synthetic rubber material. The sheet neoprene stands up to acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals. Though other rubber materials may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that neoprene sheeting does. Our Neoprene products offer excellent all-around resistance, making them versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike.
