Description

Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheeting is a durable synthetic rubber material that is designed for industrial applications. Neoprene rubber was developed by DuPont in the 1930s to meet the demand for an elastomer sheeting with chemical resistance and outdoor capabilities. While other synthetic rubbers degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, rubber neoprene is designed to endure. Our neoprene sheets are actually a synthetic rubber compound, made with a blend of styrene butadiene rubber and chloroprene (neoprene) to give it the strength of both synthetic rubber materials. This mix of artificial rubbers gives the neoprene rubber moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The result is a smooth and solid neoprene sheet that is highly desired for intense applications.
A key strength of neoprene rubber is its intense temperature range and resistance. The neoprene sheet performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, making then the ideal choice for most industrial applications. No need to worry about high temperatures or heavy abrasions damaging the heavy-duty rubber sheet; this 1/4" neoprene is one of the thicker gauges available and works best in high-stress physical applications. Our neoprene sheet comes in a selection of gauges, lengths, and widths to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene hardness. This neoprene rubber has a durometer of 40A, giving it a somewhat soft surface with an excellent range of flexibility. The 40A soft neoprene is extremely pliable, making it a good choice for sealing applications like insulation or industrial gasketing. This solid neoprene is the ideal industrial sheet rubber material.
Neoprene sheet rubber performs well in high-stress applications—particularly in outdoor and industrial conditions—that could damage other synthetic elastomers. Neoprene rubber is highly valued in outdoor applications because it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and weathering. The unique neoprene blend that makes up Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheet gives it great resistance to many substances that can easily degrade other types of rubber material. The neoprene sheet stands up to acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals. Though other synthetic rubber types may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that neoprene rubber does. Our Neoprene products offer excellent all-around resistance, making them versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike.
