Description
Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene sheeting is a tough synthetic rubber material that is ideal for industrial applications. Sometimes referred to by its chemical name chloroprene, rubber neoprene is a versatile material developed by DuPont in the 1930s. The introduction of neoprene rubber met the increasing demand for a sheet rubber material that could resist chemicals and outdoor conditions. While other synthetic rubber types may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this neoprene material is designed to endure. Our neoprene sheet is actually a powerful compound made up of SBR and chloroprene rubber (CR) to inherit the strengths of both synthetic rubbers. This unique sheet neoprene compound gives the rubber material a moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The solid sheet rubber has a sleek black finish, adding a professional aesthetic to this highly resistant neoprene rubber.
The key feature of this neoprene rubber is its wide range of resistance. Thanks to the unique synthetic rubber compound that makes it up, Rubber Cal’s sheet neoprene has moderate resistance to acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals. Rubber neoprene is designed to stand up to these substances that can easily degrade other synthetic elastomers. This neoprene rubber is also highly valued in outdoor applications, as it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and damaging weather effects without showing wear for a long time. Though other rubber materials may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that neoprene rubber does. Our industrial neoprene offers excellent all-around resistance, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike.
Neoprene sheets are also valued for their intense temperature range and resistance. This solid neoprene performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, which makes it the ideal choice for most industrial applications. High temperatures and industrial machinery are no match for this tough rubber neoprene, which is available in 10 different gauges to ensure the proper fit for any application. This 1” neoprene is the thickest option available and works best in high-stress physical applications. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene hardness. This 1-inch thick rubber has a durometer of 60A, giving it a hard surface and a moderate amount of flexibility. The 60-durometer neoprene is stiff yet pliable, and works best in highly abrasive applications such as neoprene bumpers or pads. The neoprene sheets can also be cut down and used to make rubber lining, seals, and gaskets. This versatile sheet neoprene is the perfect material for countless industrial, commercial, and even residential applications.
