Description
Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene rubber is a tough sheet rubber material that is ideal for industrial applications. Introduced by the DuPont Company in the 1930s, rubber neoprene is a versatile material designed to meet the demand for a chemical and outdoor resistant synthetic elastomer. While other elastomer sheets may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this rubber neoprene is designed to endure. Our solid neoprene is actually a powerful synthetic rubber compound made up of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR) to inherit the strengths of both synthetic rubber materials. The result is a reliable and resilient neoprene sheet with a sleek, black finish. Thanks to this mix of rubber materials, the neoprene sheet has a moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. This industrial neoprene has excellent abrasion resistance and works great in industrial and commercial applications.
The key feature of this rubber neoprene is its wide range of resistance. Thanks to the unique neoprene elastomer compound that makes it up, Rubber Cal’s neoprene sheet has moderate resistance to acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals. This sheet neoprene is designed to stand up to these substances that can easily degrade other synthetic rubber types. This hard neoprene is also highly valued in outdoor applications, as it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and damaging weather effects without showing wear for a long time. Though other rubber materials may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other rubber offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that this sheet neoprene does. Our neoprene rubber offers excellent all-around resistance, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike.
Another key feature of this neoprene sheet is its intense temperature range and resistance. The thin neoprene performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, which makes it the ideal choice for most industrial applications. No need to worry about high temperatures or heavy abrasions damaging the hard sheet rubber; this 1/16” neoprene is one of the thinner options available and works best in detailed or delicate applications. Our resilient neoprene comes in several different gauges, lengths, and widths to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene rubber hardness. This rubber neoprene has a durometer of 80 shore A to give it a stiff and hard surface with extremely limited flexibility. The 80-durometer neoprene is heavy-duty and works best in highly abrasive applications such as neoprene pads or liners. The sheet rubber product can also be cut down and used to make neoprene gaskets, strips, and seals. This versatile neoprene product is the perfect material for high-stress applications of any kind.
