Rubber-Cal’s Pure Gum Rubber is an affordable and eco-friendly flexible rubber material with high elasticity. This soft elastic rubber is naturally sourced from the latex of rubber trees and is free of any synthetic rubber materials. Production of gum rubber sheets leaves almost zero waste, allowing for an affordable and eco-friendly flat rubber sheet. This gum rubber has a natural tan color that won’t rub off or leave unsightly stains. Because the natural gum rubber is non-marking, it is ideal for abrasive applications in industrial and commercial settings alike. This flexible industrial rubber generally has a higher rebound rate than its synthetic counterparts, and is best for applications that require high elasticity.
The durometer or hardness of natural gum rubber is typically much lower than other synthetic types of rubber. A higher durometer indicates a hard elastomer sheet, while a lower durometer indicates a more soft and flexible rubber. This gum rubber has a durometer of 40A, giving is a soft surface and excellent pliability. This low durometer is the key feature of Rubber-Cal’s natural gum rubber, as it has a high tensile strength and can handle a great deal of physical stress without taking damage. Though natural rubber products don’t do well with oils and chemicals, the flexible elastomer does have good resistance to organic salts, ammonia, acids, and alkalis.
