Square Washers
There are many reasons to select a square washer instead of a round one, among them: square flat washers provide a larger load distribution as well as limiting stress on the parts they contact which can make for reduced noise and vibration. Square beveled washers (AKA leveling washers) have a wedge shape for installing screws on a surface that is not level.
