304 stainless steel sheets contain 18% chromium and 8% nickel, while 316 stainless steel sheets contain 16% chromium, 10% nickel, and 2% molybdenum. The higher nickel content in 316 stainless steel makes it more resistant to corrosion, particularly in marine environments.

The best thickness for stainless steel sheets depends on the intended application. For general-purpose applications, 16 gauge (1.5mm thick) stainless steel sheets are a good choice. For more demanding applications, such as food processing or chemical processing, thicker sheets may be required.

Stainless steel sheets can be cut using a variety of methods, including laser cutting, water jet cutting, and plasma cutting. The best method for cutting stainless steel sheets depends on the thickness of the sheet and the desired precision.

Stainless steel sheets can be welded using a variety of methods, including TIG welding, MIG welding, and stick welding. The best method for welding stainless steel sheets depends on the thickness of the sheet and the desired strength of the weld.
