4 mm Slotted Insulated Screwdriver (4 in. Shank)

Tekton insulated screwdrivers are insulated to protect against electrical shock for voltages up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC. They are tested to ensure they meet IEC 60900:2018 and ASTM F1505-16 standards. The shank diameter is reduced so the insulation can be molded flush with the tip, giving you access to screws in narrow, recessed holes. The front of the handle is round for quick turning and the middle transitions to a tri-lobe shape that provides a secure grip for high-torque driving. The handle's red exterior is made of a lightly textured TPE material that resists most common shop chemicals and is slightly soft and grippy for controlled spinning, fine adjustments, and reduced slipping under torque. Each driver has the tip size engraved in three locations with high-contrast laser markings. The end of the shank is flattened to form a broad surface that resists twisting inside the handle. The handle is molded around the shank, creating a solid connection that is stronger and straighter than simply pressing the shank into a premade handle. The tip is precisely machined and coated with black manganese phosphate, creating a slightly rough surface that enhances screw engagement. The conversion coating produces a uniform, corrosion-resistant layer that preserves tip geometry and doesn't chip or flake off. Our metric slotted tips are made to the ISO 2380-1:2004(E) standard for a precise fit in slotted screws. They have a slight wedge shape that grips both sides of the slot.
