The Titan USA CD44009 is a high-speed steel jobber length drill bit featuring a 135-degree split point and black oxide finish, packed 12 per package. The 135-degree split point self-centers on the workpiece surface on contact, eliminating the need for a center punch on most surfaces and significantly reducing walking on curved, angled, or hardened workpieces. The split point geometry also requires less thrust force than a conventional 118-degree point, reducing operator fatigue and spindle wear in high-cycle drilling operations and making it the preferred point style for production drilling on drill presses and CNC equipment. The black oxide surface treatment improves lubricity and provides moderate corrosion protection for longer tool life in everyday shop conditions compared to bright finish HSS.
