The Range Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly locks the oven door of the appliance during the self-cleaning cycle. If the existing motor has failed, it won't properly lock the oven door allowing the appliance to enter self-cleaning mode. If the switch has failed, it won't be able to communicate to the oven that the door is securely locked. A failed part may also cause the door to remain locked, even after the self-cleaning cycle has completed. Note that you'll need to remove the back panel from the oven to access this part. Installing this assembly will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the range and novice repair experience.
