Known for their stability and smooth arc performance, ceriated tungsten electrodes excel in DC welding and can also handle light AC welding tasks when needed. With slightly different electrical properties than thoriated tungstenbut with similarly excellent performanceceriated tungsten is often used as a safer, low-radioactivity alternative.
