There are three common mounting styles for bathtub faucets: wall-mounted, deck-mounted, and freestanding. Wall-mounted faucets are installed directly to the wall above the tub, deck-mounted faucets are installed into holes on the tub deck, and freestanding faucets stand independently on the floor next to the tub.

When choosing a bathtub faucet, consider the following features: water flow rate, spout height and reach, handle style, and finish. Water flow rate determines how much water comes out of the faucet per minute, spout height and reach determine how far the water will reach and how easy it will be to fill the tub, handle style affects the look and feel of the faucet, and finish determines the color and material of the faucet.

Single-handle bathtub faucets have one lever that controls both the water temperature and volume, while double-handle faucets have two separate handles, one for each. Single-handle faucets are easier to use, but double-handle faucets offer more precise control over water temperature and volume.

Installing a bathtub faucet requires some plumbing knowledge and skills. It is recommended to hire a licensed plumber to ensure proper installation. However, if you are confident in your plumbing abilities, you can follow the manufacturer's instructions to DIY the installation.
