The CHICAGO-LATROBE 69890 is a reduced shank drill bit set composed of 16 pieces with sizes ranging from 17/32 inch up to 1 inch in fractional increments. These drill bits are made of high speed steel with a black oxide finish and feature a straight shank with a diameter of 1/2 inch. Each bit has a conventional point type with a 118-degree point angle and two spiral flutes designed to cut in a right-hand direction. The overall length of each bit is 6 inches, with a flute length of 3 1/8 inches, and a flute helix angle between 30 and 34 degrees. This set is supplied in a wood block case with a plastic pouch and is intended for use in drilling applications using external coolant application as needed; this bit is not designed with coolant fed through the bit.
