Combination Units act as a first aid station, emergency eyewash station, and safety shower all in one. Most combination units come equipped with ANSI-compliant equipment and are essential for workplaces with potential chemical, biological or physical hazards.

Plumbed units connect directly to a potable water source and drain, while self-contained units have built-in reservoirs for eyewash and shower water. Plumbed units generally have higher initial complexity but lower maintenance needs, while self-contained units are more portable and easier to install, which is ideal for remote or temporary work areas.

The size of the combination unit you need depends on the number of employees and the potential hazards in your workplace. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) recommends one unit for every 100 employees, and more units may be required if there are specific chemical or physical hazards that require immediate flushing or drenching.

Combination units require regular maintenance to ensure they are always in working order. This includes weekly visual inspections, monthly functional tests, and annual inspections by a qualified professional. It is important to follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule to ensure the unit is always ready for use in an emergency.
