There are several types of fire hoses available, including: unlined linen, rubber-lined, single-jacket, double-jacket, and booster hoses. Each type is designed for specific applications, pressures, and durability requirements.

Consider the following factors when selecting a fire hose: pressure rating, length, diameter, material, and end-fittings. Ensure the hose meets the required pressure and flow rate for your application and is compatible with your equipment connections.

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safety of fire hoses. Inspect hoses frequently for damage, leaks, or blockages. Clean hoses after use to prevent debris buildup. Store hoses properly to avoid kinks or damage.

Fire hoses should be tested and certified regularly, typically annually. This testing ensures the hoses meet the required pressure ratings and are safe and functional in the event of an emergency.
