The 2609-KIT-C DIY Kit allows you to build your own full-size Gerstner chest in American Cherry. Precision-cut components are supplied unfinished, giving you the opportunity to complete the assembly, fitting, and finishing process yourself. As the largest chest in the Gerstner DIY lineup, the 2609 is a substantial and advanced woodworking project. It is not intended for beginners. Careful alignment, precise drawer fitting, sanding, and finishing experience are required to achieve a properly fitted result. When completed, the 2609 features the iconic Gerstner design with a front lid that locks the drawers when closed and stows neatly beneath the drawer stack when open. Inside, graduated drawers and a full-width top compartment provide organized storage for tools, instruments, and collections. Constructed from American Cherry, the finished chest will highlight the wood’s natural warmth and flowing grain character. Your choice of finish will shape the final tone and appearance. Over time, cherry will naturally darken, developing deeper richness and patina. The kit includes precision-machined wooden components, drawer parts, hardware, interior lining material, and detailed assembly instructions. Each drawer must be individually fitted to ensure smooth operation and proper alignment. When paired with the B2704 Base DIY Kit, the completed chest becomes part of a larger stacked configuration, expanding both storage capacity and presence.
