Its open weave construction reduces wind resistance, therefore lessening abrasion and increasing flag life. This flag material is ideal for industrial and institutional application because it resists wear to wind, dirt, and moisture. All Poly-MaxTM flags are finished with a snow-white header and brass grommets. The Alaska state flag was adopted on July 9th, 1927 and is unique in that seven of its eight gold stars form the "Big Dipper", and the last star is enlarged and represents the North Star.
