To arrive at proper ratings for common electrical equipment such as refrigerators and other appliances, electricians apply AC voltage and read the current using a type of multimeter known as “LCR meters”. These multipurpose devices can serve as an inductance meter, capacitance meter, or resistance meter (represented as L, C, & R), or all three, depending on your needs. LCR meters are also used for circuit testing, quality control troubleshooting and other electronics repair and maintenance applications. And while you’re monitoring electronics, keep an eye on static electricity to avoid damage to circuits. For static monitoring equipment, see our static sensor, and static control products.
