About Level Gauges
Level gauges (AKA oil tank gauge or tubular level gauge) tell you how much is in the tank. Typically mounted on the outside of a tank, the level gauge has a glass or plastic window (AKA sight glass) which contains the same liquid and serves as a level indicator, reflecting the same level as the fluid inside the tank. Items vary by material, mounting thread, sight length, seals and whether they are closed circuit or sealed, among other considerations.
