What is PTFE hose with wire braid?

PTFE hose with wire braid is a type of flexible hose used to convey fluids or gases. It is made of a core of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), which is a fluoropolymer known for its excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and high temperature resistance. The core is then braided with a layer of stainless steel wire, which provides strength and durability.

What are the advantages of using PTFE hose with wire braid?

PTFE hose with wire braid offers several advantages over other types of hoses. Its PTFE core is highly resistant to chemicals, corrosion, and abrasion. It also has a low coefficient of friction, which reduces pressure loss and makes it suitable for conveying fluids with high viscosity. The wire braid provides additional strength and durability, making the hose suitable for high-pressure applications.

What are the applications of PTFE hose with wire braid?

PTFE hose with wire braid is used in a wide range of applications, including chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage production, and aerospace. It is also used in medical equipment, laboratory equipment, and analytical instrumentation.

How do I select the right PTFE hose with wire braid for my application?

When selecting PTFE hose with wire braid, there are several factors to consider, including the fluid or gas being conveyed, the pressure and temperature requirements, and the size and length of the hose. It is important to select a hose that is compatible with the chemicals being conveyed and that can withstand the operating pressure and temperature. The size and length of the hose should be determined based on the specific application requirements.
