Description
The RIDGID SF-2500 pipe freezer (68967) is a mini-refrigeration unit utilizing a rotary, hermetic, low-back-pressure compressor. It circulates R-507 refrigerant through 8.5-foot hoses to specialized aluminum freeze heads. When clamped to a pipe, these heads can form an ice plug in as little as 6 minutes, depending on the pipe material and ambient temperature. This "compressor-style" freezing method eliminates the need for CO2 or nitrogen tanks, providing a continuous freeze for the duration of the repair.
