Sharon Pitts has been exploring with watercolor for over 30 years. "Each painting feels like an adventure of discovering the mysterious ways of watercolor. I place a loaded brush down onto the paper and watch the paint merge and flow. I direct the paint when I feel it is necessary and let it go where it wants when I like what I see happening." Born in Chicago, Illinois, Sharon Pitts holds a B.A. in Plastic and Graphic Arts from the University of Illinois-Chicago. She has studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and The Barnes Foundation. She is listed in, Whos Who in American Art. She has taught watercolor for 20 years and currently teaches at the Montclair Art Museum. She was invited to be artist-in-residence at the Gustav Stickley Museum in 2012. She gives watercolor demonstrations and workshops around the country, in the south of France and currently teaches a watercolor workshop in Italy each summer. She is an avid reader. She concentrates on painting lush, colorful watercolors based on themes in nature. Her work is in many corporate and private collections.

Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
