The sensor in this unit detects when your hands are in position and dispenses water accordingly eliminating the need to touch faucet handles and also reducing the chance of leaving a faucet running.This faucet has a 4'' solid cast brass spout with a chrome-plated finish for a sleek look and easy cleaning. A 2.2 GPM aerator provides a gentle flow with minimal splashing and it is vandal-resistant to prevent tampering and damage.The faucet mounts on 4'' centers. One hole is used to run the 24'' sensor cable from the control module to the faucet. The other is used to run a 1/2'' NPSM x 1/4'' NPSM 18'' stainless steel supply hose from the faucet to the control module. The control module itself comes in a water-resistant housing to provide protection against leaks and contains the internal flow control setting switches. This model also features a hydro-generator that installs between the mixing valve and the control module and provides power to the faucet. If you don't wish to use the generator however it can still be operated using either the included 100-240VAC adapter with 4 AA batteries or it can be hardwired using the terminals on the back.A mechanical mixing valve combines incoming cold and hot water and limits the temperature of water going to the faucet.
