Band saws are a powerful tool to make straight cuts with a continuous band of toothed metal. They are used in woodworking shops and metalworking shops, as well as machining centers and fabrication shops, to cut curves, irregular shapes, resawing lumber, and intricate patterns. There are two main types of band saws – vertical band saws and horizontal band saws.

Vertical Band Saws

Vertical band saws feature a blade mounted vertically on the machine. This allows for more precise cuts than horizontal band saws, and they are often used in industrial settings. Industrial vertical band saws are designed for heavy-duty applications such as cutting large pieces of metal or wood.

Horizontal Band Saws

Horizontal band saws feature a blade mounted horizontally on the machine, allowing larger pieces to be cut than vertical band saws. These machines are often used in industrial settings such as machining centers and fabrication shops.
