About Wood Chisels
Chisels are used in both woodworking and metalworking to cut or carve into the material and shape it a particular way. Chisels can be used manually or force can be applied with a hammer or mallet, depending on the hardness of the material you’re working with. In metalworking, either cold or hot chisels are used. In woodworking, there are many types of chisels like carving chisels, woodturning chisels and framing chisels, to name a few. When finished chiseling, you’ll likely want to sand the surface down to make it smooth, or use shaving tools to even out the thickness of the cut.
