XTRweld RG45 is a general-purpose, copper-coated oxyfuel gas welding rod designed for welding most low-carbon steels. Ideal for applications where ductility and machinability are essential, this versatile filler metal does not require external flux. During the welding process, the molten metal's "puddling" action will draw any scale or impurities to the surface, ensuring a clean and strong weld. Display Pack: 1 lb While RG45 and RG60 may seem similar, they were both originally developed for oxyfuel welding. They can be used for TIG welding in some applications, but because they typically lack the de-oxidizers needed for the GTAW (TIG) process, they are not recommended for that purpose in most cases.
