About DC Wound Field Motors
DC wound field motors are the motors used to lift and lower hydraulic tailgates, snow plows and other heavy forward/reverse rotar applications quickly and smoothly at a constant speed. These high torque dc motors are more concerned with generating a large amount of starting torque in either forward or reverse mode, and less concerned with regulating or varying speed.
