Accumulators store hydraulic energy and dispatch it back into the system when needed. Diaphragm hydraulic accumulators compress gas into fluid. When installed in a hydraulic system, they improve efficiency by dampening pump pulsation and flow fluctuations, and supplementing pump flow. They reduce system wear by storing extra energy under pressure and absorbing hydraulic shocks. Products differ by maximum pressure (PSI), maximum flow (GPM) and other considerations. Manufacturers include Parker and Enerpac.
