The B2104-AC Classic Base is designed to complement the 2007 Classic Chest and 2009 Collector’s Chest, adding expanded drawer storage while preserving the traditional Gerstner profile. Handcrafted in the Dayton, Ohio factory, this four-drawer base enhances capacity without sacrificing proportion or presentation. Featuring four drawers and a felt-lined top surface, the B2104 provides additional organized storage for tools, accessories, or collection items. The top is bordered with protective rails to help stabilize a chest placed above, creating a secure and balanced stacked configuration. Constructed from plain sawn American Cherry and finished in Gerstner’s signature fruitwood tone, the base highlights the warmth and flowing grain patterns of cherry. Over time, cherry will naturally darken, developing deeper richness and character. The traditional Gerstner front lid secures all drawers when closed and stows neatly beneath the drawer stack when open, maintaining clean access during use. Each drawer is individually hand-fitted to ensure smooth operation and precise alignment. Tongue-and-groove joinery reinforces structural integrity, while brown felt-lined drawers protect stored contents from scratches and movement. Compact enough to function as a standalone storage piece, the B2104 may also be used independently in a workshop, office, or bedroom setting. Its low profile allows it to serve as a discreet storage cabinet or even as a refined monitor stand while maintaining valuable surface space. As with all Gerstner wooden chests and bases, the natural properties of the wood assist with moisture absorption, supporting rust prevention for stored metal tools and instruments.
