Indexable boring bars are interchangeable lathe bits, or lathe cutting tools, that produce holes (bores) that are larger in diameter than those made by standard drill bits. They can also create grooves and threads on the inside of a workpiece made of wood or metal (such as aluminum, titanium, brass, copper, etc.), or plastics. They consist of a cutting tip at the end of a shank. Most are made from carbide or steel. Our boring bars may also vary by shank diameter, number of flutes, inscribed circle, and many other considerations.
