Patio side tables are typically constructed from a variety of weather-resistant materials, including metal, plastic, wood, and stone. Metal, plastic, and wood tables are popular because of their durability and ease of maintenance. Stone tables are more expensive, but they can add significant style and visual weight to an outdoor space.

The most crucial factor in choosing the right size side table is the size of your patio space. Measure the available area and consider the size of the other patio furniture in the space. The general rule is that the side table should be about 1/3 the size of the sofa or chair it's paired with.

Patio side tables offer endless styling possibilities. You can use them to add color and visual interest with accessories such as flowers, lanterns, stackable books, candles, and decorative objects. Consider pairing a round table with a square tabletop or mixing and matching different heights and textures to create a unique look.

The best way to care for a patio side table is to protect it from the elements when possible. Cover or store it during severe weather conditions and clean it regularly using mild soap and water. You can use a sealant to protect wooden tables and prevent fading and water damage.
