There are several forms of strapping, differing primarily by the composition of the strap. Each type suits a particular load strapping condition or circumstance. Polypropylene strapping is best suited for bundling lighter loads such as those characteristic of retail sales. Somewhat heavier loads can be contained with polyester strapping. Both of these forms are commonly referred to as “plastic strap” and are available as part of a kit or as individual rolls to be used in strapping machines or dispensers. Metal strapping is often used to contain very heavy loads. Strapping cutters can be used for all strapping but, if using metal strapping, be sure the blades are graded for steel.
