Self Locking Inserts
Self locking inserts are a type of threaded insert that screws into the workpiece material to provide a thread for a fastener. These inserts install easily with a standard drill and thread into the hole with a standard screwdriver or bolt nut. As the bolt is inserted, the exterior will fasten tight. The external threads are coated with an adhesive that activates upon installation, locking the insert into place and holding against vibration and the expansions and contractions that can be caused by temperature variations.
