Mechanical Interlock

The HUBBELL Mechanical Interlock Device is a fused, pin and sleeve interlock unit that incorporates an interlock mechanism that restricts connection or disconnection of electrical circuits when energized. It integrates a disconnect switch with a receptacle in a compact, non-metallic enclosure intended for use in specified environmental conditions as per enclosure ratings. The device features an interlock mechanism that detects plug presence and restricts removal when energized, as well as lockable handles and doors for controlled access.

• Amperage/Voltage: Rated for 60A at 120/240V AC (single phase), supporting up to 600V AC RMS maximum working voltage.


• Fused Protection: Utilizes UL Listed Class J or CSA Certified HRCI-J fuses for circuit protection; fuse type is Class J.


• Pin and Sleeve Connection: Receptacle accommodates 3 pole, 4 wire configuration; compatible mating plug is HBL460P12W.


• Enclosure Ratings: Type 4X PBT thermoplastic housing provides water and dust ingress protection rated IP66/IP67 per enclosure standards.


• Lockout Capability: Handle is capable of being locked in the OFF position; enclosure door is also lockable.


• Plug-CheckTM Mechanism: Detects plug presence, engages/disengages the switch based on plug presence, restricting removal while energized.


• Circuit Interrupting Certification: Certified for current interrupting at full rated current with short circuit withstand up to 100,000 RMS symmetrical amperes at rated voltage.


• Chemical & UV Resistance: Housing materials are corrosion-resistant and UV stabilized; flammability rating meets UL94-5VA/V-0 standards.


• Wire Accommodation: Accepts #2 to #10 AWG copper wire only; terminals identified per UL/CSA/international conventions.
