There are three main types of life vests: Type I, Type II, and Type III. Type I life vests are the most buoyant and are designed for use in rough or open waters. Type II life vests are less buoyant than Type I vests and are designed for use in calm or inland waters. Type III life vests are the least buoyant and are designed for use in calm waters where there is a chance of being rescued quickly.

When choosing a life vest, it is important to consider your weight, the type of water you will be using it in, and the activities you will be doing. If you are unsure which type of life vest is right for you, consult with a qualified professional.

To wear a life vest properly, put it on so that it fits snugly around your body. The vest should be fastened securely at the waist and chest. The headrest should be positioned so that it supports your head and neck. Ensure the straps are adjusted to fit comfortably and securely.

To care for your life vest, rinse it with fresh water after each use. Allow the vest to dry completely before storing it. Store the vest in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing the vest to extreme heat or cold.
