Description
Replace the worn-out or damaged safety ratchets on your Collins SLZ Hi-Speed Dolly set with this right ratchet assembly. This right-side ratchet assembly keeps the dolly's pry bar in control if it slips or if you lose your footing on loose gravel or a slippery surface. Size and Compatibility: This ratchet assembly is designed specifically for the Collins Dolly (SLZ), fitting 2006 and newer models. It is the right-hand side unit and pairs with a matching left-hand assembly for complete dolly functionality. Durable Construction: This right ratchet assembly is manufactured from high-strength steel with a zinc-plated finish. This assembly stays protected against corrosion, withstands use, and ensures a long service life in tough towing conditions. Application: It is a replacement for worn or damaged safety ratchets on the SLZ Hi-Speed Dolly Set. The right side assembly locks and secures the dolly arms when lifting vehicles with seized, locked, or damaged wheels. Spring-Assisted Lever: The built-in spring-assisted lever provides smooth operation and enhanced safety. If the pry bar slips or the operator loses footing on gravel, wet, or icy ground, the ratchet holds the dolly securely in place, minimizing the chances of accidents. Greater Mobility: It is designed to allow easier movement in tight spaces. This assembly helps operators maneuver the Collins dolly more effectively when working in congested areas or during roadside recoveries. Note: Using dollies without a safety ratchet system increases the chances of injury or dropped vehicles. How Is It Used: The operator uses a pry bar to incrementally lift a vehicle's wheel onto the dolly. The ratchet assembly locks each step of movement, minimizing rollback or sudden drops. The right-hand ratchet works in tandem with the left-hand assembly to ensure balance and stability during transport. How to Replace an Old/Worn-Out Ratchet Assembly in a Tow Dolly At first, secure the dolly so that it does not move while replacing the ratchet assembly. Now, remove the cottor pins/ retaining clips and the mounting bolts holding the ratchet assembly and the spindle. Slide out the old ratchet assembly and clean the mounting area. Place the new right ratchet assembly into position, and reinstall the spindle and hardware. Tighten to the required torque specification (manufacturer's specifications if available, otherwise refer to the dolly manufacturer's specification).
