Dollies are a type of wheeled cart or platform that is used to move items around. They are often referred to as hand trucks, moving dollies, or furniture dollies and can be used in a variety of settings including warehouses, retail stores, and home improvement projects.

Types of Dollies

The most common type of Dolly is the two-wheel hand truck which is designed for transporting heavy items like boxes and furniture. There are also four-wheel platform Dollies which are used for carrying large appliances like refrigerators and washing machines. Furniture Dollies have a low profile design that makes them ideal for moving couches and other pieces of furniture.

Materials Used For Dollies

Dollies are typically made from steel or aluminum with plastic handles. The wheels vary depending on the application but can include rubber tires, foam filled tires, hard plastic wheels, or even skateboard style urethane wheels.

Industries That Use Dollies

Dollies are widely used in many industries such as construction, warehousing, manufacturing, hospitality services, retail stores and even by professional movers. Professionals use them to move heavy items quickly and safely while saving time and energy.
