What is the purpose of a tile float?

A tile float is designed to evenly distribute adhesive beneath floor tile and provide a smooth base for the tiles, ensuring proper bonding and a durable, flat surface.

How do I choose the right size of tile float?

The size of the tile float you need will depend on the size of the tiles you are installing. For small tiles, such as mosaics, a smaller float is recommended. For larger tiles, a larger float will provide better coverage and efficiency.

What materials are tile floats made of?

Tile floats are typically available in two primary materials: rubber and magnesium. Rubber floats are lightweight and flexible, making them suitable for smaller projects. Magnesium floats are more durable and rigid, providing greater precision and evenness for larger tiling jobs.

How do I care for and maintain a tile float?

Proper care of your tile float is essential for extending its lifespan. After use, promptly remove any adhesive residue and rinse the float thoroughly with water. Allow the float to dry completely before storing it in a dry and clean location.
