Close-Coupled Pump Motors
Close-coupled pump motors provide space-saving design efficiency via their extended shaft, which directly drives the impeller in the pump. They differ from vertical pump motors and other motors for frame-mounted pumps, where the shaft extending from the motor is attached, via a coupling, to another shaft which extends from the pump. Close-coupled pump motors are used to push water through irrigation or sprinkler systems and in other centrifugal pump applications. Items vary by shaft length, shaft diameter, casing dimensions, RPMs, HP, number of phases, and other considerations.
