Passive noise canceling ear muffs use thick, sound-absorbing materials to block out noise, while active noise canceling ear muffs use microphones and speakers to create a sound wave that cancels out the noise.

Measure the circumference of your head just above your eyebrows and select ear muffs that are the appropriate size. The ear muffs should fit snugly but not too tightly.

Ear muffs come in a variety of styles, including over-the-head, behind-the-head, and in-ear. The type of ear muffs you choose will depend on your personal preferences and needs.

Clean the ear muffs regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. If the ear muffs are made of fabric, you can wash them in a gentle cycle with cold water. Allow the ear muffs to air dry completely before using them.
