About Welder Generators
A welder generator is a type of engine-driven welder that supplies the electrical current needed to weld. It differs from standard welders in that it is powered by a gasoline or diesel engine, rather than an AC current. Its gasoline engine power source makes it particularly suited for field or job site use and wherever AC current may not be available. Items vary by engine brand, phase, rated output, amperage range, continuous auxiliary power, horsepower, peak auxiliary power and other considerations. Most welding generators offered here are not outfitted with torches, cables, etc., so be sure to see our selection of welding tips, TIG torches, welding nozzles, welding accessories, and other welding related categories.
